Suggestions

I made this topic because, well you can guess so if you have any suggestions for the game developers.
This is my idea I ask that you post your ideas I cannot guarantee that the developers will see this but at least you can feel that your helping in any way.

My idea is, even though this is an Indie project- write up a Non-Disclosure Agreement/Contract that doesn't allow someone working with you or, someone playing it, to sell or license the ideas/works without your express consent as a group. Even though this is all for the Sword Art Online world, there's no guarantee that you won't see your work stolen and placed into a completely different plot line or arc for someone else to make money off of.

And after you've done that, you could go so far as to go out and recruit programmers who enjoy creating just for the love of it. The Skyrim world has 100's of people who do just that, on its own. (Also, within the next 3 months a Very large group of those freelance developers are going to be free to work on something new- they'll be finishing the full recreation of all previous Elder Scrolls Games by adding in the ability to travel to any of the previous games locations in what might be the biggest Mod a game has ever had before) Hint that there's an even bigger world that needs to be built to them and I doubt many will be able to resist the urge.

Well considering we are borderline copyright infringment ourselves by even making this game, I doubt we will have any rights besides ownership of assets like textures and code etc..

Not making the game was never an issue; it will be created and available whether it be allowed or obtained via some other, less than ethical, way  okay

Boss idea:
It's a "boss" called The Doorman, you don't need to fight him, but he give you the choice of multiple doors.
One door lead to an easy boss with rare items, all the other lead to a deadly boss. Yeah, it's a cliche, but it makes a little difference from the "open the boss room, fight the boss/die, go to the next floor."

Or maybe some floors which the boss room is just a hard enigma.
Anyway, I think we should change a bit the gameplay with boss so it's not 100 repetitive bosses with just more health and power.

I would put this to a Quest Boss, the quest would be - I Like My Treasure Rare - Floor 50, Deep Sea
You have to swim under the sea until you find a broken ship. Eliminate the Dark Octopus Slayers. Enter the ship. This will teleport you to an unknown location ----> The Doorman

How about a boss where you have to PK someone to get past (only until all the challenging players have either died or gotten through, then the floor is unlocked to everyone and the 'boss' is defeated). I think the boss would look cool as some sort of ghost or specter that just passively watches

Yeah but if you use it when you have less than 20% health than its twice as long to allow you to escape or heal.

I was thinking about this.. maybe in an anime where you only die once, it's right to just defeat the boss one time. But it would be very boring for people that play slower and can't get the chance to fight a floor boss and get the rare items and col/XP since it's just the front line that kill them all.
I think we should make the boss respawn (but not being able to fight them twice). They could respawn each weeks or 4-5 days.
I'm really against the idea they don't respawn.

They should respawn but if someone respawns it then the floor above it can't be accessed until the boss is redefeated

Hmm I would rather it be rare items also found in chests that spawn instead of redoing the boss fight. It takes away from the climatic effect of fighting a Floor boss

Don't forget there are also field bosses too ;)

Floor Bosses and Hidden Bosses never respawn. We trying to make Sword Art Online here, not a Sword Art Online based random MMORPG.

We still have to adapt some things to the gameplay, I don't think the guy who wrote SAO is a game developer, he would have made the game himself, he's a writer with awesome ideas.
What I say is that it would really sucks to play a game that have already been done by someone else. Just like playing Super Mario 64 on the save of someone else where all the stars have already been collected and you just play the level with no goal.
Everyone should be able to fight every bosses, not only one division of frontliners and hardcore gamers.

That way people would just overlevel the boss, go back, solo it, get the unique rare item ----> last attack bonuses wont be rare anymore + for exmple a lv 10 player just ask his lv 56 friend to help with the Kobold Lord... and so on..

I agree with the exploitations of boss respawning. However, there does HAVE to be some replay value to game. We have all played those games that are no fun after we beat it. Honestly I cant think of a solution ATM but we still have a bunch of floors to figure it out ;)
